The client has tasked us with drawing up a project that satisfies both the characteristics of energy efficiency and structural safety as well as having care and maximum attention to environmental aspects such as the recovery of rainwater, which for the use of solar energy and for cool and heat the rooms.
A further important aspect, requested by the client, was the integration of the project with the surrounding environment.
We immediately focused our attention on the aspects of natural light within the site where the villa would be built. From the first visits to the site, we realized that the pre-existing building, of high volumetric consistency, had a location error with respect to solar exposure; furthermore it presented an entire front close to the coast, depriving the entire front of natural light. From these two observations, we understood that the new villa should have developed almost for its entire surface on a single floor. This choice was dictated precisely by the desire to make the new building have as little impact as possible on the surrounding environment.
From a careful study of the Genius Loci and a careful observation of sunlight, we chose to rotate the villa by 13.5° with respect to Zen and to move it away from the coast, in doing so, we created an interstitial space between the building and the coast which will be destined for a real Zen garden.
The villa develops, almost for its entire covered surface, on a single floor; and was designed to accommodate two distinct residential units, which however can make use of the common spaces inside, such as a gym and a party room. This last space connects the outside to the inside and connects the outdoor pool area to that of the Zen garden which also overlooks the gym. On the upper floor there is the guest apartment, which juts out like a telescope and overlooks the swimming pool and the surrounding area.

Villa RR is a building under construction and is the result of a recovery intervention of the existing building heritage, which saw the demolition of the pre-existing building for the construction of a nearly zero energy building (nZEB).
